Guide to Farmville Animals

In Farmville there are two main kinds of animals: Livestock (which you can obtain at the Market for coins or Farmville cash) and Lost Animals (which will show up on your farm occasionally).  One advantage of animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones.  Animals will patiently wait for you to log in once more and harvest it.  They’re a undemanding, easy to handle method of making money and enjoying some assortment on your farm.

Livestock

The livestock you can now buy at the Market are pretty limited.  Pigs, white sheep and dairy cows are the current animal choices available at the Market.  Now and then new animals appear for a certain time. During the “Alien Invasion”, green cows titled BOV1NE-09 (currently named Alien Cow) showed up in the Market for 2400 coins.  “Milktonium,” a crop which can be harvested from green cows can be sold for 18 coins. The “Baby Turkey” was introduced during the American Thanksgiving. It evolves into a grown Turkey when harvested for the first time.  The feathers which can be harvested once every 2 days from grown Turkey can be sold at 80 coins a harvest.  Your friends can send you other exotic livestock as free gifts plus the regulars are offered there too.

You will notice that that the harvest times for each animal are not the same.  Some animals “ripen” and can be harvested once a day whilst others require as many as four days.

Lost Animals

Status updates of your friends might display that they have stumbled upon a lost animal on Farmville .  the lost animals will periodically show up on your farm and request your help.   The release of Wild Turkey is an example. To celebrate American Thanksgiving, the makers of Farmville released it as a new “lost animal”.

The following caption will be seen upon the arrival of the Wild Turkey on your farm:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

Here is a list of some of the other “lost animals” in Farmville:

*Ugly Duckling (which can be transformed into a swan)

*Brown Cow (produces chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (gives strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (makes yarn )

*Turtle (gives eggs)

*Black Sheep (makes chocolate wool )

*Regular cows also wander but they are obtainable through the Market and free items

With lost animals, you cannot adopt the animal yourself.  You can post a status update on your Facebook that you have stumbled upon a lost animal.   This is the perfect time to utilize your other (if you have more than one) Facebook account!

Place your lost animal up for adoption, then log out.  Log in on your other account and immediately get the animal before someone else does!   Constantly check your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animal.

Consider purchasing a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop if you’re collecting plenty of cows and/or chickens.

These buildings offer a convenient way to store the animals, as well as harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop can accommodate 20 cows or chickens.
